Raindrops on the deck, the ferry glides through a misty veil. The journey is in soft rain, and we imagine a break in the weather is possible. We sit outside as the rain has stopped, wind in the hair and a fresh smell.
But it starts again, and we arrive wet and unsettled. Heading home umbrellas dance and twirl in the wind and slashing rain. Strong winds gust and colours whirl. Raining still, the ferry journey is rough and windy. We arrive home soaked.

I spent many days in 2023 travelling the ferries on the harbour. Mostly on sunny days and the mood was all light, relaxed and airy. The few wet days provided a different mood. Dark and unsettling and a surrender to the idea of getting wet no matter how great the effort to avoid it. These prints are an attempt reflect that mood.
